The Chinese Theatre Works 7th Annual Dream Life-Love Theater Gala is on Wednesday evening, October 31, 2018. Yes, that's Halloween.
The gala event to benefit Chinese Theatre Works will be held in the Henson Annex, 225 East 67th Street in New York City, 6:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.
One of the most important traditions of the night is to present three Cross Culture Awards to honor some of the most important cultural leaders, opinion influencers, artists and mentors of the Chinese American community as well as to Americans whose work helps to foster understanding and cultural sharing between the Chinese and wider American cultural communities.
Chinese Theatre Works wrote to me and said, “In recognition of your years of dedication to the work at building a wider understanding of Chinese culture among English speaking communities via your radio program and online activities, we would like to present you with the Cross Cultural Media Award.
“Previous recipients of the Crossing Cultures Media Award include- Andrew Shiu (Beyond Chinatown), Joseph Hsu (World Journal), Xiaoqing Rong (SingTao Daily) etc. This year, we will also be honoring Heather Henson with the Cross-Cultural Arts Award, in recognition of her extraordinary work in China with her company, Ibex Productions.”
To say the least, I am most honored to be recognized. Thank you! Xiexie, Kuang-Yu Fong and Stephen Kaplin.
So, yes, I will be there. My friends, please come! Let’s socialize together, have fun and support a great cause.
