My next guest on the September 2 and September 9 broadcasts will be Mr. Jeff Greene, executive director of the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation.
We'll be going back in time to the dark days of World War II when all seemed lost -except in one corner of the world where tigers roared -Flying Tigers, that is!
The Chinese and American people share a common heritage that was forged in the skies above China during the Second World War. The purpose of the foundation is to rekindle the spirit of cooperation between the people of China and the United States by celebrating the contributions each has made, together and separately, to aerospace technology, science, commerce and exploration.
By educating young people of the next generation as to the accomplishments of their forebears we can provide the inspiration that will spark greater achievement and cooperation in years to come.
The primary goal of the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation will be to promote friendship and understanding between the United States and the China by fostering a practicable dialogue about our common aviation history.
As always, we'll feature the Confucius Moment, journey to another of the Treasures of China, enjoy Chinese Fun Facts, give you a preview of Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, let you know what's going on and what to see on the Weekly Almanac -and we'll have an update about a distinguished Greenwich High School valedictorian and former guest who's still accomplishing great things.
Strap yourselves in! Be sure to mark your calendar for this coming Saturday, September 2 for the live broadcast on 1490 WGCH Greenwich, Connecticut USA and anywhere via audio-streaming on WGCH.com. If you miss the live broadcast fear not; we'll post the archived broadcast on our Podcasts.com channel.
