When I visited the Chinese Historical Society of America in San Francisco's Chinatown -the largest Chinatown in North America, by the way- I was in for an unexpected treat.
On the December 17, 2016 broadcast of Marvels of China: Pathways to the Pacific Rim I welcomed Corey Tong to the broadcast. He is the co-producer of Forever, Chinatown.
This documentary focuses on Frank Wong and his amazingly detailed dioramas of visual representations of his memories of San Francisco's Chinatown in the earlier chapters of his life.
To gaze as I and others have done of these dioramas on display in the CHSA's museum and behold Frank Wong's work is nothing short of astonishing. Click this link to see my pictures of his dioramas.
Now you and I came enjoy Forever, Chinatown -which aired May 7 across the country- courtesy of the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) via its web site.

As May is Asian Pacific American Month in the USA you are invited for a limited time to watch Forever, Chinatown for free until June 7. To purchase a copy go to the official Forever, Chinatown web site.
